The provider

Nest Learn is staff training software for children's homes.

Its courses are written for children's residential care, from safeguarding to professional practice, and homes assign them to staff online.

What we reviewed

Each course went through the same review as every course we accredit.

We checked it against the six criteria in the CareCPD standard, from whether the content is accurate and current to whether the course's claims and certificates are honest.

What changed

Our feedback helped Nest Learn improve the wording and content of its courses.

That work sits under the first two criteria in the standard: a course should say clearly what learners will learn, and its content should reflect current law, guidance and good practice.

We also gave guidance on CPD hours and certificate details, which Nest Learn used as it developed its platform. The standard asks that every course states its CPD hours truthfully, and that every learner who completes it gets a certificate with correct details and a unique code.

Certificates from Nest Learn's accredited courses carry a reference that anyone can check on our verify page. The courses themselves are listed in Nest Learn's course catalogue.

What it means for you

If you're preparing courses for accreditation, start with the same areas.

  • Read your course wording as a learner would. Does it say plainly what they'll learn?
  • Check your content against current law, guidance and good practice.
  • Check the CPD hours you state are accurate.
  • Make sure your sample certificate shows correct details and a unique code.

Every decision comes with reasons. How to get accredited sets out the five steps and what to prepare.
